Free Oral Expression

Presentation

  1. Invite the child to come to a group to tell stories.
  2. Ask students if they want to tell any stories about themselves.
  3. Give the children plenty of opportunities to tell of their own experiences. This could be either in group or individually.
  4. Encourage each child to say something in front of the group, but never compel any child to do this.

Do not interrupt or correct defective speech at the time when the child is expressing himself freely and fluently. Make a mental note of the defect and correct it at a later time.

Free oral expression helps the child to gain self-confidence.
