  • 18 baskets, each containing words of one of the common phonograms written on colored slips of paper, folded once.

Direct Aim

Increasing skill in reading phonograms.

Point of Interest

    • Each phonogram on a different colored slip. 
    • Reading from a basket.
    • Refolding.

Control of Error

The phonogram slips.

Presentation

  1. Bring basket of sound that he already has had , e.g. ‘sh’ words. 
  2. Take out slips one at a time and read, then refold and set aside.
  3. He may want to make the words with the moveable alphabet, if so, have him take out the slip and read it, then refold and set aside, making it from memory with the moveable alphabet or he may write the word himself. See that paper (lined and unlined) is always available with choice of pencils.
