Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori based form of religious education. Maria Montessori had developed various elements of religious education during her life. She wrote some pieces on the faith life of children and the Mass, as well as some lessons and materials. She also borrowed the term for the entrance into the church, namely Atrium, to name the space in which religious education takes place.
CGS has developed a set of training programs based on the sensitive periods of development. There are many sites for training. Please see CGSUSA for more information.
